DayMen Supplier Code of Conduct

DayMen believes it is essential to deal with honesty and integrity toward all – the company, customers, suppliers, vendors and each other. Therefore, we ask that our business partners accept the DayMen Supplier Code of Conduct. Business partners include all involved with DayMen and its affiliates in making, processing, manufacturing; including contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers. We choose our business partners according to the following standards.

DayMen may visit (and/or have our external monitors visit) business partners with or without notice to assess compliance with this Code. We may submit 3rd party auditors to evaluate our business partners' wage, hour, and other worker records and practices. Violations of this Code may result in termination as a DayMen business partner.

This Supplier Code of Conduct uses standards such as Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and Ethical Trade Initiative (ETI) to create this language. These documents elaborate further on terms and definition, and are useful for further information.

Safe and Healthy Working Environment

We require business partners to follow local laws and to provide a safe and healthy working environment including potable water, clean toilet facilities, sanitary food storage and sanitary preparation areas. Adequate steps complying with local laws shall be implemented to prevent workplace injuries and accidents. If the business partners are to provide residential facilities for employees, these areas should also follow the local laws to provide a safe and healthy residential facilities. Business partners are responsible for prevailing knowledge of hazards to health and environment, including regulations specific to the industry they operate, such as chemicals, machines and/or processes. Business partners shall incorporate C-TPAT security criteria into their business processes as described in the U.S. Customs website, www.cbp.gov.

Fairness in Discipline

We do not accept or conduct business with business partners whose policies and practices condone treatment of its employees without due process. Disciplinary procedures are to be open, dignified and impartial.

Non-Discrimination

We believe in the employment of workers should be based on their abilities, rather than according to their race, gender, personal characteristics or beliefs. We encourage business partners to eliminate discrimination in their workplace.

Reasonable Working Hours and Overtime Working Hours

We require our business partners to comply with local laws and business practice regulations. Involuntary labor and human trafficking are forbidden.

Fair Wages

We require our business partners to provide wages and benefits in accordance with local laws, and we encourage our partners to commit to improving the level of wages and benefits, to enable them to meet the basic needs of workers and their families.

No Child Labor

We will not conduct business with those who use child labor. Child labor is defined as younger than the local minimum working age, or less than sixteen years old, whichever is greater shall prevail. (Excepting legal apprenticeship projects).

Business Integrity

Corruption, extortion, bribery and embezzlement are illegal. Business partners shall not violate any international anti-corruption conventions, and applicable anti-corruption laws and regulations of the countries in which they operate, and shall not engage in corruption, extortion, or embezzlement in any form. Business partners shall not offer or accept bribes or other means to obtain an undue or improper advantage.

Reporting and Notification

We require prompt notification from our business partners of any failure to comply with this Code of Conduct or any illegal or criminal activity related to our business. Business partners should create programs to insure whistleblowers confidentiality, and prohibit retaliation against workers who participate in good faith. Business partners shall create anonymous complaint mechanisms with similar protections.
